Who we are
Quantum computers exploit quantum mechanical principles such as superposition and entanglement to perform specific computational tasks that would take years or decades on classical computers. But quantum computers are fragile machines – at QPerfect we build the software and control layer for neutral atom quantum computers that makes them useful. QPerfect was founded 2023 as a spin-off of the European Center for Quantum Sciences in Strasbourg and recipient of the prestigious iLab Grand Prix, and in 2026 became the European R&D hub for BTQ Technologies (Nasdaq: BTQ), a Canadian quantum-security company. Our first flagship product MIMIQ (one of the most advanced quantum emulators in the world) lets end users design and test quantum programs in software, at scale, before running on real hardware. We are now building the Quantum Logical Unit (QLU), the control framework that enables error-corrected operation of neutral-atom quantum systems at scale.
We are a young, multicultural, and deeply technical team, now backed by a listed group, and we are scaling fast. We need someone to help build the operational foundations for that growth.
The role
As Operations Manager, you will work directly with the CEO to manage the company’s financials, operations and administration, and stakeholder relations, so that the scientists and engineers can deliver on our technology roadmap. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment and can adapt to different tasks with ease. One week you’re overseeing the budget with our accountant and preparing a grant report or a board meeting; the next you’re onboarding a new team member relocating from abroad. You won’t do it alone: you work with an external accountant, a payroll provider, external legal counsel, and the BTQ group’s finance, HR and comms functions. If you like ownership, variety, and structuring a fast-moving company for success, then this will suit you.
Responsibilities
Financial and reporting
- Make sure our cash-flow reporting and accounts are clean and up to date
- Act as the day-to-day liaison with our external accountant and payroll provider
- Work with the R&D teams to coordinate grant reporting (Bpifrance, EU programmes) and the Crédit d’Impôt Recherche tax incentives
- Prepare the reporting data needed for investors, funding agencies and the BTQ group
Operations
- Design and implement lightweight SOPs/internal processes: onboarding, expense/approval workflows, procurement, vendor tracking, to support company scaling.
- Work with the CEO and the CTO to prepare the documentation, processes, and administrative groundwork for compliance milestones like GDPR and technological sovereignty requirements
- Handle the day-to-day: ordering and tracking equipment, processing invoices, and managing the office space itself
- Coordinate logistics for events we host or attend
Administration
- Oversee HR administration, contracts, immigration/visa process (Passeport Talent, ICT permits), and a smooth, welcoming onboarding for new hires
- Be the reliable operational interface to our stakeholders: reporting, board and leadership prep, and organising meetings
Your first 6–12 months might look like
- You have a full working knowledge of our operations, financials, and active grants and are the primary contact to the accountants, payroll officers, funders and legal counsel.
- You have built financial reports that the CEO can trust at a glance, and a clean quarterly rhythm with the accountant and the BTQ group to streamline our reporting obligations.
- You have developed a lightweight, documented set of internal processes, and selected the tools we use to support them. This helps the current team function well and new recruits integrate quickly.
- You help organise at least one hosted event for key stakeholders, ensuring it runs smoothly end to end.
Who you are
- You have at least 5 years experience across operations, office management, finance administration, HR operations or a startup-generalist role, ideally in a startup, scale-up or other fast-moving environment.
- You are genuinely comfortable with numbers: you can build and own a cash-flow file, read a budget, and hold your own with an accountant.
- You are fluent in French and English (English is our working language; French for administration, suppliers and authorities).
- Highly organised and autonomous: you turn ambiguity into structure and close loops without being chased.
- A natural first point of contact for the team: clear, reliable, and easy to work with.
- You are comfortable with both internal operations and external communications: you can manage stakeholder relationships and represent QPerfect to partners and visitors.
- You are pragmatic about compliance: you respect French labour and admin realities but find the simplest path that works for our team.
Nice to have
- Exposure to deeptech, R&D or research environments, public grants (Bpifrance / EU), or international / cross-border operations.
- Experience supporting a company through a transition: acquisition, fundraising, or rapid headcount growth.
